Buyer

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, be detail oriented and have good technical skills which will be used to provide guidance and support to departments in the purchasing of a variety of materials, supplies, equipment and services. Will work within established standards and guidelines to develop, solicit, receive, review and recommend contract awards. Will issue purchase orders, monitor vendors and contractors for compliance and problem-solve issues as needed. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a very fast-paced, team oriented environment.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management or related field, or combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position. Requires excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals. A commitment to providing superior customer service and a strong work ethic are essential. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Valid Michigan Drivers License required.
