About the Role
We are supporting a specialist engineering business looking for a Calibration Technician to join their team in Cleveland, Ohio.
This role will focus on the inspection, calibration, maintenance and repair of precision inspection equipment and related metrology systems. The position would suit someone with hands-on mechanical, electrical and basic troubleshooting experience who is comfortable working independently and supporting customers directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repair and calibration of automated precision inspection equipment and related metrology equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across inspection and calibration systems.
- Develop and follow calibration procedures, inspection routines and test installations.
- Complete calibration documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Communicate technical updates, schematic changes and process improvements to internal teams.
- Support customers in a timely, professional and cost-effective manner.
- Recommend updates to procedures to improve accuracy, relevance and efficiency.
- Travel as required to support customer sites.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in calibration, metrology, machine service, maintenance or a related technical field.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, ladder logic and technical documentation.
- Understanding of machines, milling, metrology or precision measuring equipment.
- Experience using basic electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of AC/DC electrical theory.
- Strong communication, organisation and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Education
Associate degree, technical qualification, relevant training, or equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time onsite position with a 40-hour minimum working week. The original JD also notes the role is non-exempt and not remote or hybrid.
Salary : $28 - $37
