Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) for a Financial Cost Accountant based in Boston, MA. This role supports our Senior Accountant and will be responsible for supporting accounting functions including accruals, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and general ledger management. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the company by maintaining the accounting for our Utah real estate portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Utah property financials to include timely and accurate monthly financials for each property
- Weekly cash reconciliations of operating accounts
- Assist property managers with financial requests
- Maintain tenant ledgers
- Manage Utah residential properties to include timely and accurate financial reporting sent to partners and lenders
- Adhere to lender requirements
- Work with property management and Asset Manager for accurate financials
- Update monthly operations report with current financials
Job Costing: setup, update and monitor projects in Northspyre to include:
- Enter jobs in Northspyre and RealPage
- Enter budgets in Northspyre
- Enter commitments and PO's in Real Page
- Review and code all capex invoices
- Organize project files and upload quotes/contracts to Real Page
Reporting: build, update, and distribute reports to include:
- Weekly capes report
- Project schedules / milestone updates
- Monthly financials forecast
- Meeting minutes
Subcontractor and Materials Procurement:
- Study project scope of work and get estimates and proposals
- Issue subcontracts and purchase orders
- Set up new vendors in job costing
- Set up credit accounts with new vendors
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong interest in construction and real estate development/management
- High level of proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Real Page and Northspyre a plus but not required
- Experience with FloQast a plus but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding time management skills, with proven ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities effectively
- Sound judgement, maturity, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
