What are the responsibilities and job description for the ROCK WALL INSTRUCTOR position at Kenosha YMCA?
- Provide daily instruction in a safe, effective manner in a class setting
- Be attentive to all that is going on in the climbing wall at all times
- Develop classes that are current in the industry and in demand in our community
- Assist members and answer questions in regard to climbing and other programs
- Provide guidance/instruction during private parties and rentals
- Take daily attendance at the beginning of each class from current roster for all classes and notify Sports Director of any discrepancy
- Record all accidents, incidents and important information on the appropriate forms and notify Sports Director of all incidents
- Assume full responsibility for assigned shifts, securing a substitute when necessary and subbing for your fellow co-workers when needed, and notifying the Sports Director of all substitutions
- Keep updated waivers forms filed neatly and in the Excel database
- Change routes as necessary
- Sign in and out accurately and turn in timesheet according to payroll schedule
- Sign in and out keys to program area and return when finished
- Sign out equipment needed for shift
- Attendance at staff meetings is mandatory
- Assist in one special event per calendar year
- Other duties as assigned
- 16 years or older
- 1-3 years' experience
- Ability to resolve issues in a professional manner
- Ability to control groups of 5 or more
- Experience with children is preferred
- Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law for individuals over 18 years old
