General Nature of Work
The
purpose of this classification is to monitor activities and provide customer service
to the patrons of the Parks and Recreation Department which can include the Ben
Robertson Center and the Recreation Center.
JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position.The omission of specific statements of the
duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar,
related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be
required and assigned.
- Performs
customer service functions in person and by telephone; provides information or
assistance regarding Center services, activities, forms, procedures, fees, or
other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems
and initiates problem resolution; refers complaints/problems to appropriate
personnel.
- Processes
participant registrations; reviews registration forms for
accuracy/completeness; enters information into online database; collects and
records fees; maintains related documentation.
- Schedules
facility rentals; receives and reviews facility rental requests and agreements;
enters information into facility calendar; collects and records fees; maintains
related documentation.
- Maintains
facilities; prepares facilities according to daily schedule; cleans rooms and
facilities; moves, sets up, and tears down tables, chairs, etc.; performs
routine cleaning of facilities.
- Opens/closes
facility; unlocks and locks doors; turns lights on/off; disarms/sets alarm;
empties trash; sweeps floors, etc.
- Ensures
compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards,
policies and procedures; ensures adherence to established safety procedures;
monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of
employees and other individuals; initiates any actions necessary to correct
deviations or violations.
- Communicates
with supervisor, City employees, the public, or other individuals as needed to
coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information,
resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
- Prepares
or completes various forms, reports, accident reports, rental check lists, or
other documents.
- Receives
various forms, reports, registration forms, weekly building/room schedule,
facility rental agreements, policies, procedures, catalogs, manuals, rules or
other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as
appropriate.
- Communicates
with supervisor, Town employees, volunteers, the general public, or other
individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work,
exchange information, resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
- Operates
a personal computer, general office equipment, or other equipment as necessary
to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing,
spreadsheet, database, or other system software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Data Utilization: Requires the ability to compile, assemble, copy,
record and/or transcribe data according to a prescribed schema or plan.
Includes judging whether readily observable functional, structural or
compositional characteristics are similar to or divergent from prescribed
standards, procedures or routines.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to exchange information for the
purpose of clarifying details within well-established policies, procedures and
standards.
Equipment, Machinery,
Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of
equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential
functions.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of
reference data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division.May
include counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out detailed but routine
written or oral instructions. Involves routine work according to clearly
prescribed standard practices, with some latitude for independent judgment.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment in
situations characterized by repetitive or short cycle operations covered by
well established procedures or sequences.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school
diploma or GED is preferred; supplemented by some experience in customer
service or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities
for this job. Must possess and maintain a Georgia driver’s license.

Physical Requirements: Tasks require
the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically
involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling,

weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Tasks require the ability to perceive and
