Kennedy McCarthy & Rumm, LLP is a growing boutique California employment law firm representing employers. We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our collaborative team.

We are seeking the right attorney to join our growing team. While our ideal candidate has significant California employment law experience, we are also interested in talented attorneys with at least three years of experience who are excited to develop their practice in a collaborative, employer-side employment law firm.

Unlike many litigation firms, our attorneys have the opportunity to work closely with employers on both litigation and day-to-day employment counseling, allowing them to become trusted advisors while handling challenging and sophisticated employment matters.

What You'll Do

You'll manage a diverse employment litigation practice representing employers in California state and federal courts, including:

·      Single-plaintiff employment litigation

·      Wage and hour class actions

·      PAGA litigation

·      FEHA discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and accommodation claims

·      Wrongful termination matters

·      Arbitration and mediation

·     You will have the opportunity to handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, trial preparation, and trials when necessary

·      Direct client counseling, employment advice, and litigation strategy

This position offers substantial client contact, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced employment law practitioners on sophisticated matters.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an attorney who enjoys solving problems for employer clients and takes pride in producing outstanding work.

Preferred qualifications include:

·      Active membership in the California Bar

·      3 or more years of California employment litigation experience (more experience is welcome)

·      Experience handling discovery, depositions, law and motion, and client communications

·      Excellent legal writing and analytical skills

·      Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment

·    Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating closely with partners and attorney colleagues

No portable book of business is required.
