Job Summary: Pump Mechanic
The Pump Mechanic is responsible for inspections, disassembly, assembly, ordering parts and cleaning / blasting of various centrifugal pumps. The Pump Mechanic will work with Supervisor and co-workers during the job. This role must consistently meet production demands within time standards once training schedule is completed.
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities in this role include investigating signs of failure and recommendations. A Pump Mechanic will also be expected to gradually learn disassembly and assembly of pumps, motors and related equipment. Candidate must be able to follow all safety precautions as his role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of wastewater systems to comply with safety and environmental standards.

Essential Functions
- Candidate will learn and perform a variety of skilled duties to safely perform disassembly, precision measurements, fill out inspection reports, reassembly and air testing of split case, multistage, end suction, sewage, vertical turbine and submersible pumps used in the water and wastewater market, and the industrial and power generation markets
- Record and check all new parts using various measuring equipment such as micrometers and or calipers etc.
- Operate overhead cranes and Hi-Lo’s – training provided
- Operate equipment such as presses, pullers, torches and grinders
- Report all operational deficiencies to supervisor and maintenance personnel
- Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections / orders to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
- Minimum age requirement 18
- Candidate will be provided a basic company set of tools, a tool loan program is available for you to purchase more tools
- Mechanical experience or interest in training to be a pump mechanic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers and coworkers at all times
- Must be available to work occasional nights, holidays and weekends
