Repair Estimator

ROLE: REPAIR ESTIMATOR

Kennedy Industries is seeking a highly skilled and detailed-oriented Repair Estimator to join our team. As Repair Estimator, you will be crucial in accurately assessing and determining the costs associated with our projects, products, or services. Your expertise in analyzing data, conducting research, and evaluating various factors will contribute to our overall cost management and profitability.

Essential Functions

• Analyze project, product, or service requirements and specifications to understand the scope and identify cost elements.
• Conduct thorough research and gather data on materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for the project.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as inside repair, procurement, and repair shop, to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
• Utilize cost estimation software and tools to calculate and prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Evaluate historical data, industry trends, and market conditions to determine cost factors and adjust estimates accordingly.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties impacting project costs and incorporate contingency plans into estimates.
• Prepare a comprehensive cost breakdown, including labor, materials, equipment, vendors, and overheads.
• Review and analyze supplier and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Present cost estimates to management and stakeholders, providing clear explanations and justifications for the proposed cost.
• Build reports for estimate jobs to provide to customers. Work with the shop team.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Proven work experience as a Cost Estimator or in a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret project specifications and requirements.
• Proficiency in using cost estimation software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing cost estimates.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industry-specific cost factors, materials, and labor rates.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices is a plus.
• Ability/prior experience in reading bid specifications.
