Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other methods while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage acute pain and provide specialized care
- Perform diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection
- Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and patient education to ensure seamless transitions of care across settings
- Maintain accurate medical documentation following HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD10)
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and emergency response procedures including basic life support (BLS).
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient record management.
- Skilled in performing advanced nursing procedures like IV insertion, phlebotomy, tube feeding, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills for, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration with hospital medicine or outpatient clinics.
