School Nurse

Started in 1958, the mission of the Kennedy Children's Center (KCC) is to assist young children experiencing significant delays in critical areas of development such as cognition and learning, mobility, speech and communication, and social relations.

The School Registered Nurse will provide essential nursing services, manage student health records, educate students on healthy habits, and collaborate with the school community to create a healthy learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Ensure all students meet immunization and physical exam requirements, and act as a liaison with parents regarding student health needs, including Health Care Plans.
• Respond to, document, report, and maintain accurate records of all medical incidents, emergencies, and accidents.
• Administer, document, monitor, and evaluate prescription and non-prescription medications, following regulations and Health Care Plans.
• Provide first aid and necessary medical care as needed.
• Manage and maintain first-aid supplies, medical equipment, and medications according to agency policies and regulations.
• Offer informative consultations and educational programs on health and hygiene topics to students, both individually and in classrooms.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily medication records and medication consent forms.
• Monitor the school environment to ensure adherence to infection control procedures.
• Provide on-call medical emergency coverage during school hours.
• Collaborate with the team to obtain necessary Occupational and Physical Therapy prescriptions for students.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Medical Consultant and/or Director of Health and Social Services.
• Knowledge of Department of Health

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is required.
• 3 years experience in school nursing required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.

Salary : $84,000 - $95,000
