Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe health status, and report any changes to healthcare professionals promptly
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment in accordance with health standards
- Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities through tailored care strategies
Requirements
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments; group home experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs requiring medical attention
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional training in hospice or memory care is a plus
- Familiarity with medical procedures including medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
(personal assistance devices) - Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driver’s license preferred for travel between client locations; flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends
