Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, edging, and weeding to keep outdoor spaces pristine.
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Identify various plant species, including native plants, and assess their health to ensure optimal growth.
- Manage plant pest control and pesticide applications following safety protocols to protect plant health and the environment.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of gardens and landscaped areas.
- Assist with planting new greenery, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and ground cover using proper horticultural techniques.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their landscaping needs and provide professional recommendations for ongoing care.
Skills
- Proven experience with greenhouse operations and growing plants in various environments.
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, including lawn care, pruning, fertilization, and soil management.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and grounds equipment necessary for landscaping tasks.
- Ability to identify plants accurately and understand their specific growing requirements.
- Experience with pesticide management, pest control strategies, and sustainable gardening practices.
- Familiarity with native plants and their role in local ecosystems to promote environmentally friendly landscapes.
- Climbing ability for tree trimming or accessing elevated areas safely.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles related to farming, agriculture, and landscaping projects.
- Excellent client communication skills to discuss project progress or landscape recommendations confidently.
