Employment Opportunity – Ellis Grounds Coordinator
Kendall County is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grounds Coordinator to support operations at the Ellis House & Equestrian Center. This position plays a key role in maintaining the grounds, supporting events, and ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for public use.
Essential Functions:
A successful candidate for this position must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality support for Kendall County operations. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining grounds and landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal upkeep
- Assisting with event setup and teardown, including arranging equipment and preparing event spaces
- Performing general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds
- Monitoring facility conditions and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
- Operating tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Supporting daily operations of the Ellis House & Equestrian Center
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and County policies and procedures
- Interacting professionally with staff, vendors, and the public
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred
- Ability to perform physical labor and operate equipment safely
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid and current driver’s license is required
Work Schedule:
- Schedule will vary based on operational needs
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- This position is on-site in Yorkville, Illinois
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range: $40,000 - $44,000
