What You Will Do
- Lead and support Dietary Aide staff to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional service quality.
- Oversee front-of-house operations in Borden, Webster, and Anderson when serving as the Culinary Manager on Duty.
- Train and mentor new team members, including instruction on the Cubigo system and organizational procedures.
- Conduct audits, provide feedback, and guide staff through performance improvements.
- Ensure dining areas meet sanitation, infection control, and safety standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment while holding staff accountable to organizational expectations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, and administration through active engagement in all dining areas.
- Complete daily closing paperwork and ensure all checklists and responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Address resident concerns promptly, professionally, and with compassion.
- Promote an environment that protects the health, well-being, and rights of residents and staff.
- Participate in required training, including in-service education and Relias courses.
- Uphold Kendal at Lexington's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food service experience preferred, with leadership experience considered a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and support team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Dependability, flexibility, and a willingness to work a varied schedule.
- A positive attitude and commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, families, and coworkers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for approximately 90% of the workday.
- Frequent stooping, bending, stretching, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and hold up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including exposure to ovens and freezers.
- May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals, odors, and communicable diseases.
