Kendal at Hanover is seeking a Capital Projects and Sustainability Director. The Capital Projects and Sustainability Director is responsible for executing major capital projects and incorporating those that promote sustainability on our campus. This role involves the planning, coordination, and oversight of projects that will improve environmental and economic outcomes.
Primary roles and responsibilities include:
- Developing and having high-level oversight and management of capital plans on an annual and ongoing basis.
- Defining clear goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes for projects.
- Developing scope of work, cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, timelines, and contracts for construction and acquisition for all long-range capital projects.
- In collaboration with the CFO and Capital Planning Committee, overseeing budget resource allocation and procurement processes to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget (with a focus on our sustainability initiatives).
- Serving a key role on the Capital Planning Committee.
- Ensuring that capital investments align with the carbon reduction strategy.
- Tracking the performance of all capital projects and ensuring they meet pre-defined metrics, and reporting results and insights to leadership and other stakeholders.
- Managing the organization’s energy conservation program.
- Serving as the Kendal at Hanover representative on sustainability at external meetings and events.
The successful candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Facilities Management, or other related field;
- A minimum of five years of management-level experience in large facility building maintenance and operations that includes budgeting, purchasing, and supervisory experience;
- Experience in supervision of skilled technical workers and general contracting vendor management;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and Six Sigma, ISO 14001 or similar certification;
- Professional Sustainability certifications and training (LEED accreditation/Certified Energy Manager);
- A comprehensive understanding of sustainable practices and principles; and
- A working knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental impact and sustainability initiatives.
Pay range: $102,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year, dependent on skills and experience.
