What are the responsibilities and job description for the Code Compliance Officer position at KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH?
Applications will be reviewed bi weekly.
- Prepares and administers all necessary enforcement orders, warning documents, stipulations, warrants, staff reports and other required documents and provisions of KPB Ordinance Chapters 20 and 21.
- Reports violations of code and assists in preparing an enforcement action plan in cooperation with all necessary borough departments.
- Assists in developing policies and regulations for implementing and enforcing borough land use ordinances.
- Maintains compliance database and computerized tracking system and prepares periodic reports for compliance activities.
- Performs field inspections and follow up inspections to ensure compliance with conditions of codes, enforcement orders, warnings, and permits.
- Communicates and coordinates with other regulatory agencies where multiple permits are required.
- Provides information and assistance to the public on all aspects of code compliance requirements.
- Receives and processes applications for land use and utility permits.
- Other related duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate orally and writing; regularly required to sit, and to use hands and fingers dexterously to operate office equipment and small tools; and occasionally required to transport up to 50 pounds, reach with hands and arms, and stand and walk (at times on uneven ground). This position requires the ability to access non-road accessible Kenai Peninsula Borough land during all times of the year using four-wheeler, ATV, snow machine, snowshoes, etc. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
