Kemper House Strongsville is looking for a caring, patient, and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant for our Residential Care Facility.
The successful candidate would have a general knowledge of building systems, life safety systems (fire alarm, sprinklers, etc.), plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance needs of a 24-hour facility.
This position is 14-hours per week ( 8 hrs. every Friday), plus 6 weekend hours (determined in agreement by Administrator and employee) but may also include shared on-call responsibilities in case of emergency or urgent maintenance needs.
Under the Direction of the Maintenance Director, main duties of this position include, but are not limited to,:
- Cleaning, Preparing, Painting, Repair and Rehab of resident apartments
- General maintenance and care of facility
- Maintenance, cleaning, and repair of floors and carpeting
- Oversight of Contractors as needed
- Implementation of safety procedures
- Keep building in compliance with all State of Ohio, OSHA, and HUD rules and regulations
- Act as a safety manager for facility ; ensure continued compliance with all Fire Safety rules and regulations
- Keep record of Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned.
Candidates must have a clean driving record and pass a criminal background check.
Knowledge of Ohio Department of Health rules and regulations not necessary, but are beneficial.
