The starting salary range for consideration for this position is $78,000 to $93,000 per year with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The actual starting salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant employment history & experience, skill set/competencies, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Kemira is looking for an on-site Process Engineer in our Marietta, Georgia, production facility.
In This Role You Will Be Responsible For
- Working on site to improve chemical production and utility processes.
- Collaborating with production staff to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinating process safety activities, including:
- Management of Change
- Process hazard analysis
- Pre-start up reviews
- Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions for process incidents.
- Managing plant-wide improvement idea system.
- Training personnel on new / changed processes.
- Regulatory reporting and environmental protection activities.
- Providing technical and process safety support for new / experimental product trials.
- Developing and updating operating procedures, P&IDs, engineering records.
- Supporting or leading capital projects.
- Identifying and leading efforts to reduce emissions, energy and water consumption.
- Developing competency to fill in for team members as needs arise.
- Chemical engineering degree
- 2 years (relevant Co-op experience considered) in chemical manufacturing, involving batch reactions and PSM processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
- Demonstrated track record of self-motivation and skills growth.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects simultaneously within tight timeframes.
- Strong interactive skills with all levels of plant organization.
- Willingness to travel when required.
