Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate Integrative Nutrition Specialist to join our team and work closely with mental health practitioners. The ideal candidate will use functional and holistic nutrition approaches to help clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, and sleep disorders by addressing gut health, dietary habits, and lifestyle behaviors.
Integrative nutrition combines medical insight with whole-food nutrition to support overall wellness. It emphasizes unprocessed, natural foods for optimal nutrient absorption and may include supplements to meet daily nutritional needs. This holistic approach helps the body heal and function at its best.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and follow-up nutrition assessments with a focus on mental wellness
- Educate clients on the gut-brain connection and the role of nutrition in mood regulation
- Design personalized meal plans, supplement protocols, and lifestyle strategies
- Interpret functional lab tests (e.g., GI MAP, micronutrients, food sensitivities)
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and psychotherapists to create integrated treatment plans
- Track client outcomes and progress through EMR documentation
- Lead or support virtual wellness groups or educational workshops
Qualifications
- Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), RDN with functional/integrative training, or IFNCP certified
- Strong knowledge of nutritional psychiatry, gut health, and inflammation
- Experience working in or with mental health settings (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable delivering services via telehealth
- Bilingual (English/spanish) is a plus
