Production Planning Manager (Intermediate Level)

Position Summary
The Production Planning Manager (Intermediate Level) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient workflow, timely delivery, and resource utilization. This role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and proactive problem-solving to support continuous improvement and meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
· Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure timely material supply and production execution.
· Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to minimize delays.
· Analyze production data and trends to optimize planning processes and improve efficiency.
· Support new product launches and changes in production plans.
· Maintain accurate records of schedules, output, and resource usage.
· Report recurring planning issues and recommend solutions to enhance reliability.
· Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
· Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement projects.
· Support Lean, Kaizen, and TPM initiatives to optimize plant performance.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Technical Skills:
· Knowledge of production planning, scheduling software, and ERP systems.
· Ability to analyze data, create reports, and develop actionable insights.
· Familiarity with inventory management, procurement, and logistics processes.
Soft Skills:
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
· Able to work in office and plant environments.
· May be required to visit production areas, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
· May be required to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts.
Preferred Certifications
· APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
· Lean Six Sigma certification (a plus)
· OSHA 10 or 30 certification (a plus)
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
