Superintendent Job Description
General Description:
Responsible for supervision and management of assigned projects on behalf of Kelty Co.
Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Superintendent based in Long Beach, CA. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and managing daily construction operations, coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities also include quality control, supervising site personnel, and ensuring timely communication with project managers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Construction project management and site supervision skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- Previous experience in a Superintendent or similar role is highly desirable.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in construction management or related field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA or First Aid Training are an advantage.
General Responsibilities:
- Schedule and supervise subcontractors.
- Supervise schedule to ensure project is on time and within budget.
- Price, supervise and verify all change orders.
- Attain necessary permits.
- Assemble close out packages.
- Attend project meetings.
- Notify project manager of issues or discrepancies on project.
- Check and distribute contract drawings.
- Keep daily log.
- Check for lead time items and order accordingly.
- Check proposal file for sublist, proposal and correspondence.
- Provide and install a safe and clean environment for all projects.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist in bidding projects including attending jobwalks and distributing plans.
- Market and sell Kelty Co daily.
- Take clients and or clients’ staff to lunch.
- Attend company social functions.
- Assist in training new personnel.
- Maintain a presentable appearance and demand the same from subcontractors.
- Absolutely do not allow smoking, drinking, drugs or abusive language on any Kelty Co jobsite.
