Position Overview
A fast-growing sales organization is seeking a motivated, in-field Sales Development Representative (SDR) to engage local restaurants, build relationships with owners/operators, and drive new business opportunities. This role is ideal for candidates energized by face-to-face outreach, goal-driven incentives, and the autonomy to manage and grow a defined territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively visit a high volume of restaurants in your designated territory each week, introducing the company and setting qualified meetings for the outside sales team.
- Identify key decision makers, build quick rapport, and deliver a value-focused pitch to business owners.
- Log all visits, conversations, and meeting outcomes in company systems (e.g., Salesforce and other sales tools) with strong attention to detail.
- Collaborate with Account Executives on target accounts, profiles, and follow-up plans.
- Strategically plan and execute daily routes to maximize meetings and engagement.
- Follow up with merchants after visits via phone, text, and email to confirm meetings and maintain interest.
- Consistently meet and exceed weekly and monthly targets for meetings set, meetings held, and revenue-generating activities.
- Serve as the eyes and ears in the market, providing actionable feedback from merchants to improve pitch and product offerings.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in outbound sales, canvassing, field marketing, or any role involving customer acquisition (sales, hospitality, retail, service, etc.).
- Comfortable with high-volume, short, in-person conversations throughout the day.
- Ability to clearly and confidently articulate value propositions.
- Experience working with CRM tools (Salesforce, Outreach) is a plus.
- Restaurant, food & beverage, or local business experience is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory.
- Ability to work flexible, restaurant-friendly hours (including some early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends).
- Organized, disciplined, self-motivated, and open to coaching/feedback.
- Capable of standing/walking extended periods, driving frequently, and carrying light marketing materials (flyers/tablet, etc.).
