Compensation: $36,000 annually

Position Overview
We are seeking licensed insurance professionals for an Agency Development Sales Specialist opportunity supporting a national insurance organization.
This role is designed for individuals who want to build on their insurance sales and customer experience while developing the skills needed for future agency ownership or insurance business leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, building customer relationships, selling multiple insurance products, and creating a plan for long-term portfolio growth.
This position provides the opportunity to make strategic decisions regarding prospecting, lead sources, lines of business, customer engagement, networking, marketing, and sales activities.
This is a contract position supporting the insurance organization and is not a direct full-time employment opportunity with the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an individual business development strategy.
- Contact prospects, establish rapport, and identify customer insurance needs.
- Conduct discovery conversations and customer coverage reviews.
- Provide appropriate insurance recommendations based on customer needs and underwriting guidelines.
- Sell and cross-sell insurance products, including auto, home, life, specialty, and/or commercial policies.
- Convert quotes and prospects into active policies.
- Generate leads through follow-up, referrals, networking, and external centers of influence.
- Identify target customer segments and tailor prospecting strategies accordingly.
- Build relationships with customers, referral partners, and business contacts.
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly activity plans.
- Manage follow-up activities and develop an individual book of business.
- Provide insurance guidance and respond to customer service requests.
- Collaborate with appropriate personnel to resolve routine and complex customer needs.
- Maintain accurate records in required tracking systems.
- Complete required professional development milestones.
- Obtain a Life and Health license if not already licensed.
- Stay current on insurance products, industry trends, and sales practices.
- Meet program production, strategy, and development requirements within established timeframes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Property and Casualty license required before hire.
- At least one year of sales and customer experience.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven approach.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Ability to independently organize sales activities and manage follow-up.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and use business tracking systems.
- Ability to work onsite daily under the current work model.
Preferred Qualifications
- Life and Health insurance license.
- Insurance sales experience.
- Experience selling multiple lines of insurance.
- Experience managing a book of business.
- Experience developing referral partnerships or centers of influence.
- Experience with outbound prospecting, networking, or community marketing.
- Experience working toward sales quotas or production goals.

Physical and Work Environment
This position is performed in an office environment or, if approved, at an alternative work location. The role involves extended periods of sitting, frequent computer and telephone use, and occasional movement around the workplace. Candidates may occasionally need to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds. Travel is rare.
Salary : $36,000
