Job Summary
Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Quality Control Microbiology Analyst to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career laboratory professional looking to gain valuable experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. You'll support commercial and clinical product release activities while working alongside an experienced and collaborative Quality Control Microbiology team.
This position is a 6-month contract position with strong potential for extension. This role is located 100% onsite in Berkeley, California.
This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing on commercial, clinical, and in-process samples to support product release
- Conduct growth promotion testing and other microbiological assays using aseptic technique
- Follow GMP guidelines, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and laboratory safety procedures
- Support method verifications for clinical and commercial products
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and documentation
- Collaborate with the QC Microbiology team to meet testing and product release timelines
- Support occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work as business needs require
Required Skills / Experience (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related Life Sciences field
- 1 years of laboratory experience
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment
- Hands-on microbiological testing experience using aseptic technique
- Strong understanding of SOPs and laboratory compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Skills / Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
- Product release testing experience
- Growth promotion testing experience
- Familiarity with USP and EP compendial testing requirements
- Method verification experience
- Experience supporting commercial and clinical products

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between 21.00 and $31.00/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
