Job Summary
Our client a leading Financial Services provider is seeking a Medical Malpractice Trial Attorney to join their team! This position is located in Joliet, Illinois.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage medical malpractice cases from initial review through trial
- Review and analyze medical records to identify negligence and liability
- Develop case strategy, including expert retention and life care planning
- Prepare and attend depositions, pre-trial conferences, and trials
- Draft, file, and manage legal documents in compliance with court procedures and deadlines
- Collaborate with legal teams, paralegals, and stakeholders to ensure effective case management
- Support negotiation and trial strategy to maximize client outcomes
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- 5 years of litigation experience with trial exposure
- Proven trial experience in medical malpractice cases in Illinois
- Experience achieving verdicts in plaintiff-side litigation
- Active Illinois Bar license
- Strong knowledge of medical malpractice laws, negligence, and duty of care
- Experience reviewing medical records and working with expert witnesses
- Ability to manage cases independently and meet strict deadlines
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- 10 years of experience as an attorney
- Experience in personal injury or plaintiff-side litigation
- Background transitioning from defense to plaintiff-side litigation
- Experience handling high-value or complex medical malpractice cases
- Familiarity with legal platforms such as LexisNexis, PACER, or Odyssey
- Strong track record of successful trial outcomes
- Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced litigation environments

Work Environment
- Location: Joliet, IL is preference but will consider other locations for right candidate

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $125,000 and $200,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
