Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Java Springboot Developer to join their team! This position is located in Hopkins, Minnesota.
Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x
- Build distributed, high-throughput systems using Apache Cassandra, including data modeling and query optimization
- Develop and deploy cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure such as: AKS, Azure Functions and Service Bus
- Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Event Hubs
- Apply microservices patterns such as API Gateway, Circuit Breakers, Service Discovery, and Distributed Tracing
- Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and service mesh technologies
- Write high-quality unit and integration tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, and related frameworks
- Lead code reviews, enforce secure coding practices, and drive performance optimization
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve reliability with strong monitoring and alerting
- Mentor engineers, contribute to technical direction, and help ensure overall team success
- Maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and runbooks
- Identify technical debt and propose scalable, best-practice solutions
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 10 years of experience designing and developing large, complex backend systems using Java and OOP principles
- 6 years of experience building microservices architectures
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem such as: Spring Cloud, Data, Security, REST
- 3 years working with streaming and messaging technologies such as: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus
- Proven experience with Apache Cassandra or other NoSQL databases, including production data modeling and performance tuning
- Strong experience with containerization and cloud platforms
- Experience building APIs using REST, JSON, and familiarity with gRPC and GraphQL
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of API security and secure coding best practices
- Experience using modern development tools
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with US-based and global teams
- Experience leading and mentoring engineers while remaining a strong individual contributor

The approximate pay range for this position is between $48.00 and $69.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
