Position Overview
The Surgery Scheduler / Administrative Services Coordinator supports the Spine Center by coordinating administrative and clerical functions to ensure efficient daily operations. This role is primarily responsible for scheduling surgical procedures, managing provider calendars, and providing exemplary customer service. The coordinator interfaces with patients, providers, and insurance companies to support clinical processes and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage scheduling of surgeries, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain and update provider calendars to optimize clinic operations.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for patient inquiries, complaints, and requests, ensuring prompt and professional resolution.
- Manage insurance verification and authorization processes for all scheduled procedures.
- Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls to appropriate personnel, and assist with general inquiries.
- Support the department’s administrative needs, including preparation of documents and reports as required.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Other duties as assigned by department leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2 years of scheduling or administrative support experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of insurance authorization and verification processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
