Location: Onsite, 5 days/week
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $18.79 per hour
Assignment: Temp-to-hire

As a Shipping Specialist (Export Compliance), you will play an integral role in ensuring the company complies with regulatory policies related to the global export of goods. You’ll prepare shipping documents, support warehouse processes, work on compliance procedures, and interact with cross-functional teams and agencies. About The Role
As a Shipping Specialist (Export Compliance), you will play an integral role in ensuring the company complies with regulatory policies related to the global export of goods. You’ll prepare shipping documents, support warehouse processes, work on compliance procedures, and interact with cross-functional teams and agencies. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare international shipping documentation.
- Authorize the release of export sales orders to the warehouse.
- Enter export declarations into the government’s ACE portal.
- Identify, correct, and report on areas of export non-compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date and compliant record keeping.
- Submit license applications when required.
- Develop and conduct internal training on export compliance.
- Track changes to export regulations and update internal manuals.
- Advise departments and staff on shipping channels and processes.
- Communicate with government agencies and freight forwarders.
- Assist with special projects and research new sanctions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field (flexibility may be discussed based on experience).
- Prior experience in shipping related position.
- Solid computer and MS Office proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong math and Excel skills.
- Able to work independently and learn new regulations.
- Working knowledge of Incoterms.
- Experience in finance, warehouse shipping/receiving, or trade compliance.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP is a plus.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude.
- Previous trade compliance experience.
