Job Title: Quality Engineer
Pay Rate: ($37 per hour entry level) ($41 per hour candidates with 2 or more years of applicable experience)
Duration: Until Nov/2027
W2 contract only (No C2C)
Location: Waterloo, IA, 50703
Shift: 1st shift (7 am to 3:30 pm) possible overtime
Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer for Drivetrain Components Manufacturing located in Waterloo, Iowa , you will support production by leveraging a variety of quality tools and processes to ensure product quality performance exceeds customer expectations. You will also lead quality improvement initiatives and drive customer warranty improvement projects. In addition, you will:
- Lead Drivetrain Component Manufacturing issue resolution in a fast-paced environment while driving improvement through various quality initiatives including QIT, PFMEA, DPQ, Six Sigma projects, and Smart Connected Factory initiatives.
- Plan, organize and execute quality initiatives in your area of responsibility, including leading cross-functional, cross-departmental projects.
- Leverage structured problem-solving and statistical skills to solve complex component manufacturing problems.
- Manage, implement, or update control plan development and execution.
What Skills You Need
- Experience using standard quality management principles and tools (such as FMEA, SPC, Root Cause, Control Plans, Gauge RR, MSA and Capability Studies).
- Experience reading and interpreting complex part drawings, including functional knowledge of GD&T principles and terminology.
- Experience using advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis.
- Experience in driving a closed loop corrective action process, including rigorous root cause analysis.
- Experience with gear or shaft manufacturing standards, processes, and controls.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in project management; including effectively facilitating, leading, and managing cross functional teams.
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or Minitab software.
- ASQ certifications such as CQE, CSSGB, and/or CSSBB
- Drivetrain Components shop floor experience
Education
- Ideally you will have a bachelor's degree in a Manufacturing Technology or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

- This is a shop floor position so candidates must be comfortable in this environment
- ~75% time spent on feet within the factory.
