Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting routine analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Learn and perform basic physical, chemical, and microbiological testing procedures.
- Help interpret test results and identify potential trends or deviations under Site Quality Lead supervision.
- Support production processes by learning and applying quality control procedures.
- Assist in documenting and tracking minor quality issues, collaborating with production teams as directed.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of basic reports on quality control activities and test results.
- Help maintain and update quality control documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality manuals.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements under guidance.
- Participate in internal audits to observe and learn about compliance with food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF, PCQI).
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as part of a team.
- Participate in cross-functional team discussions to learn about and support quality-related improvements.
- Help implement new quality control procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Quality Lead or senior staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Prior internship, academic project, or coursework experience in a laboratory or quality-focused environment is a plus.
- Basic understanding of food safety and quality principles (e.g., HACCP, GMPs) through coursework or personal study.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills in laboratory testing and analytical equipment operation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and work diligently in a structured environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
