What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Research Assistant position at Kelly?
June Schedule - 6am-4:30pm (5 days per week)
July Schedule - 5am-2:00pm (6 days per week)
August Schedule - 6am-4:30pm (5 days per week)
- Provide support for corn detasseling activities in July and early August. Work may extend if warranted and includes supporting seed production such as field scouting, data collection, roguing fields, and providing other support as needed. May also include limited operation of field equipment.
- This position may require working in inclement weather including windy conditions as well as the hot and cold.
- Detasseling is a critical activity for corn seed production.
- Able to work extended hours when needed and be available on weekends during the month of July to provide support.
- Able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
- Coordinate closely with the Agronomy Supervisor and Research Specialist to support day to day field activities.
- Will need to use a company vehicle for work and must have an excellent driving record.
- Priority will be given to candidates with a strong focus on safety and good attention to detail.
