QA Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Location: Pembroke, NC
Shift: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3rd Shift)
Compensation: $55,000 to $65,000 Annually
Incentives: $2,500 Signing Bonus
Opportunity Overview
Major food company seeking a results-oriented QA Supervisor to join our Pembroke, NC team. This position is responsible for providing daily, hands-on leadership and technical support to the Quality Assurance team, ensuring the effective maintenance of our food safety and quality management systems across the 3rd shift.
The QA Supervisor will drive continuous improvement, guarantee compliance with customer expectations, and support productivity requirements within a high-volume food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, train, and support all daily activities of QA Technicians to support business growth and maintain operational excellence.
- Display appropriate work ethics and leadership to positively influence the production floor culture.
- Assume critical responsibilities of the QA Manager in their absence.
Quality & Compliance Management
- Provide guidance on quality and food safety issues to both Operations and QA teams.
- Ensure strict adherence to established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), policies, and procedures.
- Oversee and execute daily product releases.
- Perform daily product review and customer complaint reviews, escalating as necessary.
Audit Readiness & Systems
- Support the execution of internal and third-party audits (e.g., customer, regulatory, GFSI) and participate in site inspections.
- Analyze audit results and deficiencies found, supporting the development of corrective actions.
- Maintain understanding of related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
Operations Support & Documentation
- Assist with the activities of the company, trace, & recall program, including summarizing reports.
- Support Production Managers, Supervisors, and Leads during formula changes and product issues.
- Support Operations and other support teams in reducing foreign object contamination.
- Review and organize operational paperwork on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain inventory of QC/lab supplies and coordinate specialized training from suppliers or for new equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree or equivalent experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Previous knowledge working in a food production Quality Assurance department.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience.
Skills & General Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Must have a flexible schedule, including the ability to work weekends as necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining good housekeeping and clean work areas, and adherence to production dress code and personal hygiene standards.
