Supply Chain Manager
Duration: (Contract / potentially Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Petersburg, VA (On-Site) with occasional travel to Ohio as needed
Salary: $50–$60/hour (based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead planning, purchasing, inventory, and supplier management functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient operations, cost control, and on-time delivery to meet customer demand.
This is a contract role with strong potential to convert to full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage planning team (scheduling, demand planning, forecasting, inventory control)
- Optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs, improve lead times, and increase efficiency
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and contracts
- Monitor raw material costs and support pricing strategy adjustments
- Maintain accurate system data for pricing, purchasing, and planning decisions
- Partner with leadership to communicate challenges and implement solutions
- Recruit, train, and mentor planning, purchasing, and customer service staff
- Support multi-site operations and ensure alignment with business goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5–10 years of supply chain or operations experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience managing teams
- Strong background in forecasting, inventory control, and supplier management
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems (QuickBooks preferred) and strong computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
