Company Description
Keep Music Alive is a 501(c)(3) arts Non-Profit organization based in Delaware County, PA. Our mission is to help more kids (and adults) reap the educational, therapeutic, and social benefits of playing music. Our programs include Teach Music Week (March), Kids Music Day (October), Musical Instrument Petting Zoo events and an After-School Music Lesson program for under-served students. Each year, we partner with over 1,200 music schools and organizations worldwide to offer free lessons to new students and hold special events that benefit children playing music. We also host over 100 musical instrument petting zoo events with 50 instruments at schools, libraries and community festivals.
Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role as a Board Member at Keep Music Alive. The day-to-day tasks include participating in board meetings, providing strategic guidance, supporting fundraising efforts, advocating for music education, and contributing to organizational growth and development. Qualifications
- Passion for Music and Music Education
- Able to volunteer for 2 Musical Instrument Petting Zoo events/year
- Willingness to engage network for fundraising initiatives
- 4-6 hours/month available for board meeting and committee activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Previous board membership experience is a plus
