Overview:
KeenLogic is seeking a Senior Scientist (Compliance) to support our team with one of our government clients. This position supports Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) in delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support across Department of Defense (DoD) facilities.
The role focuses on supporting environmental compliance efforts across DoD facilities by ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include collaborating with regulators and operations staff, conducting compliance assessments and audits, and supporting programs such as air, wastewater, and stormwater permitting, hazardous waste management, and soil and groundwater compliance. The position also involves preparing technical deliverables, including reports, presentations, permit applications, and design review comments, and maintaining databases to support ongoing compliance initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and 10 years of relevant work experience
- Master’s degree in science or engineering and 8 years of relevant work experience
- Meets with regulators and operations staff
- Interacts daily with operations staff to assist in keeping WHS compliant with all environmental mandates
- Prepares reports, presentations, permit applications, design review comments, and databases
- Performs internal compliance assessments and auditing
- Air permitting and implementation
