Position Summary:
As a Concessions Beer Technician at Keeneland Hospitality, you are responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of draft beer systems across the Keeneland campus. You play a key behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that all beer is served fresh, cold, and efficiently throughout each event. Your attention to detail, technical skill, and support of concession operations directly enhance the guest experience and uphold Keeneland’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and break down portable and fixed draft beer systems at concession stands and bars.
- Troubleshoot and repair common draft system issues, including keg changes, line cleaning, and CO₂ adjustments.
- Monitor beer quality, line pressure, and temperature to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of beer lines, taps, and keg storage areas.
- Restock kegs and manage inventory rotation to ensure freshness.
- Collaborate with bartenders, supervisors, and warehouse teams to coordinate deliveries and system needs.
- Assist with keg transportation, staging, and movement using proper safety protocols.
- Maintain records of keg usage, maintenance logs, and system performance.
- Uphold Keeneland’s standards of safety, efficiency, and guest service at all times
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Prior experience with draft beer systems or beverage equipment preferred. Basic understanding of CO₂ systems, refrigeration, and beverage line operation a plus.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Able to lift and move kegs (75 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout large event spaces.
- Availability to work during Keeneland race meets, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Licensing Requirements:
- A valid Fayette County Food Handler’s License is required for all food and beverage staff. Must be obtained prior to the first scheduled shift.
- A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers. This license will be provided to you on behalf of Keeneland upon hire.
