Position Summary:
As Concessions Food Handler at Keeneland Hospitality, you are responsible for safely preparing, handling, and serving food and beverage items in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role supports both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in line with Keeneland’s standards and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food using kitchen equipment.
- Handle food in accordance with Fayette County and state health and safety guidelines.
- Follow proper food storage, sanitation, and preparation procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and service areas, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Assist with restocking supplies, ingredients, and condiments as needed.
- Work closely with cashiers and other team members to ensure prompt and accurate order fulfillment.
- Dispose of waste and food safely, adhering to Keeneland’s sustainability and hygiene practices.
- Support concession stand opening, operating, and closing duties, including cleaning and inventory.
- Perform job duties assigned by supervisor.
- Comply with Keeneland’s safety, uniform and grooming standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous food service or food handling experience preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Customer-focused attitude and clear communication skills.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift/push up to 50lbs.
- Assist with receiving, loading and unloading deliveries.
- Possible exposure to extreme temperatures, sharp objects, and diverse terrain.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, holidays and special events
Licensing Requirements:
- A valid Fayette County Food Handler’s License is required for all food and beverage staff. Must be obtained prior to the first scheduled shift.
- A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers. This license will be provided to you on behalf of Keeneland upon hire.
