You will work with our team in a client-focused firm to help clients solve their immigration problems. You will provide a strategy for clients appearing before the Immigration Court and DHS/CIS, and then work with the team to implement the strategy. From Adjustment of Status to Naturalization, and from bond hearings to Cancellation of Removal, you will handle a variety of matters.
In this role, you will help ensure clients navigate complex immigration laws effectively and efficiently. You will help individuals achieve their immigration goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through dedicated advocacy and strategic legal solutions.
Responsibilities
- Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare for cases dealing with cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustment of status, bond hearings, habeas, motions to terminate, and other types of relief for immigration court, BIA, and federal court
- Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action
- Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
- Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
- Prepare and review legal documents such as petitions, applications, affidavits, and supporting evidence to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct legal research to stay current on immigration laws, policies, and precedents.
- Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, interviews, and hearings with confidence and professionalism.
- Negotiate with government agencies to resolve issues related to visa denials or deportation proceedings.
- Maintain meticulous case files and documentation in the law office management system to ensure compliance and facilitate smooth case progression.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of immigration law, including visa categories, asylum procedures, deportation defense, and naturalization requirements.
- Strong research skills to interpret statutes and case law.
- Excellent written skills for drafting petitions, legal briefs, correspondence, and reports with clarity and precision.
- Proven negotiation abilities to advocate effectively for clients during hearings or settlement discussions.
- Familiarity with related areas such as family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, estate planning, environmental law, patent law (basic understanding), and land use regulations enhances comprehensive client support.
- Legal administrative experience in managing case files, scheduling hearings, and coordinating with government agencies.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues critically while maintaining attention to detail in high-pressure situations.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
