Description
- Perform rigging and lifting operations while also serving as the subject-matter expert for complex lifts. This role is responsible for hands-on rigging duties, planning lifts, conducting safety checks, mentoring peers, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Perform rigging and lifting duties daily as an active member of the team.
- Plan and execute complex lifts, including pre-lift hazard analyses and equipment inspections.
- Operate forklifts as needed.
- Mentor riggers, sharing expertise and reinforcing safety standards.
- Conduct audits of rigging practices and equipment, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assist supervisors with monitoring rigging-related throughput and production goals.
- Promote 5S and housekeeping standards in rigging areas.
- Drive a professional, team-oriented, and safety-conscious culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and comprehend load charts and rigging capacity charts.
- Ability to read a tape measure (standard or metric) and convert them both ways.
- Advanced knowledge of rigging practices, load charts, and equipment capacity.
- Demonstrate ability to perform and troubleshoot complex lifts.
- Ability to lead by example as a working lead, balancing hands-on rigging with oversight responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills with ability to mentor and provide peer-to-peer training.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, charts, and rigging plans.
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (Safety, Quality, Production Control).

- May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
- Ability to maneuver up to 200 pounds independently.

- Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
