KMK Law is in search of a Legal Assistant to join our Domestic Relations Group.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares documents at the direction of the attorney/paralegal.
- Manages telephone calls and responds to inquiries; coordinates on-site client visits.
- Electronically files pleadings and other submissions with domestic relations courts.
- Proofreads and corrects prepared materials.
- Opens, sorts and logs mail.
- Dockets and schedules due dates for court filings, hearings, and other case details.
- Composes professional correspondence and memoranda.
- Establishes and maintains office and case files, electronically and in paper.
- Prepares travel arrangements.
- Enters billable time for attorney and paralegal.
- Prepares bills for clients.
- Coordinates and schedules client meetings.
- Makes necessary copies and arranges set-up with copy services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years’ experience in law firm preferred.
- May lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
