Job Summary
The Project Manager 2 will lead and oversee the execution of complex and high‐priority signage projects from start to finish. This mid‐level position will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects, managing larger scopes, higher budgets, and learning to schedule teams while maintaining excellent client communication. The Project Manager 2 will act as a mentor to junior project managers and coordinate cross‐functional teams to deliver exceptional signage solutions within scope, time, and cost constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage large or high‐priority signage projects, ensuring all phases—design, permitting, production, installation—are delivered on time and within budget.
- Client Communication & Relationship Management: Serve as the lead point of contact for high profile clients, handling project updates, requests, and troubleshooting to ensure long‐term client satisfaction and retention.
- Advanced Scheduling & Timeline Management: Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met. Adjust plans as needed to accommodate unforeseen changes, delays, or client demands.
- Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently. Work with the finance team to handle invoicing, change orders, and cost adjustments.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Lead vendor and subcontractor coordination, ensuring that external teams meet delivery requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Ensure that all signage produced meets company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Oversee quality assurance from design through installation.
- Team Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and internal teams, providing direction and guidance to junior project managers, designers, and other staff. Ensure team alignment on project goals and expectations.
- Problem‐Solving & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve project challenges or risks, involving senior leadership as necessary. Develop contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate, up‐to‐date project records, including contracts, change orders, and project reports. Regularly report on project status, risks, and financials to senior leadership.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes, identifying best practices and optimizing workflows.
General Contractor Signage Projects:
- Manage GC-related project requirements including reviewing subcontract agreements, progress reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain detailed Schedule of Values (SOVs) in alignment with project budgets and contract structures.
- Prepare, submit, and track Pay Applications, lien waivers, and billing documentation in accordance with GC billing cycles and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with general contractors’ project teams regarding site readiness, sequencing, safety requirements, and installation logistics.
- Ensure adherence to GC platforms and tools (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar) for RFIs, submittals, daily logs, and change order workflow.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in the signage or related industry. Proven experience managing large, complex projects.
- Experience working directly with general contractors on commercial construction and signage scopes, including managing submittals, RFIs, installation sequencing, and site coordination.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and managing Schedules of Values (SOVs), Pay Applications, and formal billing documentation required under GC-led projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (preferred but not required).
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jobber, Asana, or similar tools)
- Advanced understanding of signage production, including design, fabrication, and installation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage client expectations effectively
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed (including occasional overnight travel)
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials or equipment (up to 25 pounds)
- Ability to work in various environments, including offices, job sites, and outdoor locations
Compensation
· 75k-90k salary based on experience
