Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Large Format Printing Operator to join our print production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting large format printers to produce high-quality graphics, signage, and displays. You will ensure that all print jobs meet client specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate large format printers (e.g., HP Latex) to produce banners, posters, vehicle wraps, signage, and other wide-format products
- Operate plotter
- Operate a laminator
- Know how to kiss cut, weed and premask vinyl
- Prepare files for print using RIP software (such as Onyx and flexi)
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor print jobs for accuracy, color consistency, and quality
- Trim, laminate, mount on different substrates, and finish printed graphics as required
- Maintain a clean and organized print production area
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs
- Coordinate with the design team, project managers, and installation teams to meet project deadlines
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Keep detailed records of materials, print jobs, and machine performance
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in printing or graphics a plus)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating large format printers
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop) and RIP software
- Strong eye for color and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for long periods
- Knowledge of various media types, substrates, and finishing techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with latex printers, cutting plotter and laminators,
- Knowledge of ICC color profiles and color management
- Be able to install window and wall decals
