Summary:
Engineering Intern Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of manufacturing process and equipment
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process sheets and work instructions
- Conduct studies to identify new manufacturing technologies and methods
- Work with Engineering Team to troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Participate in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Assist with the implementation of quality control processes and procedures
- Participate in Safety Training and adhere to Safety Protocols in the manufacturing environment
- Provide support in various projects as needed, which may include reports and presenting findings
- Participate in problem solving and process improvement teams
- Conduct time studies and work simplification projects
- Will be involved in specific projects related to process improvement, product development, maintenance, facilities, production or as may be directed by the Director of Engineering.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Basic understanding of Engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and rectify issues that may arise in the manufacturing processes
- Understanding of Engineering software tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar from coursework
- Knowledge in areas like Lean Manufacturing Tools such as 5S, PM, eMaint, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in teams to collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Operators, and other Team members
- Initiative and self-motivation to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
