The Role
KDC/one is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Indirect Procurement to lead strategy, sourcing, and supplier management across all indirect spend categories.
This role will be responsible for delivering cost savings, efficiency, and value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, and demand management. The Director will partner closely with functional leaders across Operations, Finance, IT, HR, and Corporate functions to build a cohesive procurement strategy that supports business growth, transformation, and sustainability goals.
The Requirements
Drive Cost Reduction & Value Realization
- Lead all aspects of indirect procurement including logistics, IT, packaging, CAPEX, travel, MRO, HR, professional services, facilities, marketing, and utilities.
- Develop and execute category strategies that deliver sustainable savings, improve service levels, and drive supplier-led innovation.
- Partner with business stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with operational and financial performance objectives.
- Utilize spend analytics and benchmarking to identify new cost reduction opportunities and drive sourcing prioritization
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing processes including opportunity assessment, market intelligence, supplier research, RFP/RFQ execution, bid evaluation, and supplier selection.
- Leverage competitive intelligence and category benchmarking to ensure best-in-class sourcing outcomes.
- Develop should-cost models, total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, and sourcing playbooks to guide decision-making.
- Structure and negotiate long-term supplier agreements, ensuring optimal pricing, risk mitigation, and service quality.
- Establish and manage contracting processes, including SLAs, KPIs, and commercial terms.
- Ensure all sourcing initiatives comply with Procurement governance, ESG standards, and company policies.
- Establish a formal supplier management and governance framework for strategic, preferred, and tactical suppliers.
- Implement supplier performance scorecards and link KPIs to external commodity markets where applicable.
- Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers to foster innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Proactively manage supplier risks including financial health, geopolitical exposure, and supply continuity.
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers and dual-sourcing strategies to enhance business resilience
- Drive continuous improvement in sourcing and procurement processes
- Collaborate with IT and Finance to improve Procure-to-Pay (P2P) efficiency and spend visibility.
- Lead large capital sourcing projects in engineering, facilities, manufacturing, and lab-related CapEx initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
- 15 years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years managing indirect categories in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Proven success in developing sourcing strategies, executing large-scale RFPs, and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Strong understanding of contract management, supplier risk management, and market intelligence tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels.
- Hands-on, results-oriented leader capable of thriving in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Experience with Procurement systems and analytics platforms (e.g., ERP, SAP, Power BI)
- Experience managing contract manufacturing or multi-site supplier networks a strong plus.
