Buyer - Aerofil

Position Summary:

The Buyer examines data concerning business and service demand and identifies demand patterns and forecasts.

Essential Functions

• Create and release purchase orders in SAP based on MRP and production requirements.
• Monitor open orders and follow up with vendors to confirm delivery dates, resolve issues, and expedite shipments as needed.
• Maintain and update reports including open orders, past due orders, and raw material/component coverage.
• Ensure materials are available to support the production schedule by analyzing forecasts, usage trends, and inventory levels.
• Use Nexus to manage vendor communication and purchase order status visibility.
• Coordinate with planners/schedulers to align material deliveries with production needs.
• Communicate with suppliers via email and phone to confirm orders, request updates, and troubleshoot delivery       problems.
• Assist with root cause analysis of material shortages and implement corrective actions.
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and minimize inventory discrepancies.
• Participate in regular production and plan meetings to provide updates on material status.
• Support inventory accuracy efforts and assist in reducing excess and obsolete materials.
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure strong collaboration and performance.
• Follow all safety and quality procedures.
