Analyst - Purchasing-Port Jervis Purchasing Salary SG&A

Summary:

Use MRP data & customer information to execute the timely purchase & receipt of materials. Identify cost savings opportunities related to item purchases. Manage inventory levels in both dollars and turns. Ownership of purchasing process from order entry to material release.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Timely procurement & release of materials to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Maintain ERP Item and Supplier Master Data (i.e. lead times, Inc wait times, contact information, MOQ, etc.) to ensure Master Data is accurate.
• Responsible for all issues related to procured items, including but not limited to rejects, returns, pricing & freight claims.
• Recommend items for disposition due to inactivity or expiration.
• Expedite material receipts to meet changes in schedule.
• Assist Costing Department in obtaining material cost quotes.
• Maintain item pricing & supplier files.
• All other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Business degree or equivalent combination of education & experience.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience using MRP in fast paced manufacturing environment.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent analytical, math, time management, & organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in negotiation.
• Demonstrated MS Office skills (in particular Excel).
• Cost Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Kanban/MinMax training desirable.
