IT Help Desk Representative provides technical support and assistance to staff, ensuring efficient operation and utilization of our IT systems and infrastructure. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Log support calls, conducts the general diagnostic, and troubleshoots functions via phone, e-mail, and/or ticket system.
  • Provide clear and concise guidance for KCS’s hardware and software users.
  • Communicate complex IT issues to higher-level specialists for resolution.
  • Educate and guide staff on IT best practices, usage of systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop solutions for recurring problems and improve overall IT service delivery.
  • Assist in the installation of PCs, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Load operating systems and configure network settings for workstations.
  • Analyze the failed equipment according to the established procedures and takes appropriate action.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the security software.
  • Maintain confidentiality of KCS’s operations, physical assets, and intellectual property.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to provide informed support and recommendations.
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned and needed


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Help Desk Technician or other customer support role.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
  • Proficiency in Windows environments, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with network and security concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 20-50 pounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with EHR systems and healthcare IT preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
  • Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) preferred.
