We are working with a leading & growing manufacturer in the personal care industry that is looking to fill a newly created leadership procurement position. The Director of Procurement will lead the procurement team in strategic sourcing and buying for all raw materials and packaging across two manufacturing sites. The role is responsible for leading and developing procurement strategies that ensure cost efficiency, quality compliance, and supply continuity across the supply chain. ** For this opportunity you must be commutable to Chicago, IL or Long Island, NY ** This is an onsite role for either one of those locations. ** Job Responsibilities:· Develop & implement sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and production requirements (including risk mitigation plans) for raw materials (Chemicals, Nonwovens, Rigid Plastics, Flexible Plastics, Cartons, Labels, Industrial Packaging, Indirects, etc.) · Build and maintain a global supplier network for raw materials. Negotiate contracts, long-term agreements, and strategic partnerships. Execute and manage supply contracts. · Lead and mentor the procurement team buyers and managers · Support all relevant business development/maintenance initiatives and lead cross-functional procurement focused project teams. · Manage operational procurement activities (inventory management, supply chain collaboration, new product introductions, vendor/item transitions, etc.) · Select, develop, and manage supplier base; maintain vendor scorecards with the team. Proactively assess supplier risk and implement contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply · Partner with the R&D team to drive top-line business growth via supplier generated/facilitated innovation. · Analyze market trends and implement cost savings strategies without compromising quality. Subject matter expert for procurement organization; understand and continuously monitor relevant commodity market conditions/trends Required Skills/Qualifications: · 5 years strategic sourcing experience in OTC and/or CPG, medical/pharmaceutical or relevant manufacturing procurement · 3 years procurement management experience · Hands on strategic and operational procurement experience with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, moderately structured CPG company · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. · Excellent strategic and contract management skills · Excellent strategic & opeational procurement toolbox · Strong supplier relationship management skills · Strong internal relationship management capability (e.g. supply chain, R&D, finance, and marketing) · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Entrepreneurial spirit and adapative leadership style with a passion for procurement & Continuous Improvement · Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
