Job Title: Access Control Technician III - Data Center | Ashburn, VA Area

Location: Ashburn, VA Area (with local travel to project sites throughout the market)
Shift: Day Shift (exact time may flex based on project needs)
Start Date: Immediate

We are hiring an Access Control Technician III to support the deployment of security and low voltage systems across data center projects in the Ashburn, VA metro area. Work will include a mix of new construction builds and installations within existing, operational data center environments, with some local travel required to sites throughout the market.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Installing, terminating, and wiring access control systems and associated hardware
  • Pulling, routing, labeling, and dressing low voltage and structured cabling
  • Installing and wiring security devices including:
    • Door contacts and request-to-exit devices
    • Motion detectors and sounder/siren devices
    • Electric strikes and magnetic locks
    • Card readers and optical/security devices
  • Wiring and terminating access control panels, controllers, and boards
  • Installing and supporting structured cabling infrastructure and MDF/head-end room buildouts
  • Mounting, installing, and wiring IP cameras throughout the facility
  • Assigning IP addresses and performing camera configuration
  • Performing firmware upgrades and downgrades on security devices as required
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and verifying proper operation of installed systems
  • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, riser drawings, and installation plans
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and professional installations
  • Traveling locally between project sites within the Ashburn, VA market as assigned
  • Working within both active new-construction sites and existing, occupied data center environments, following all applicable safety and access protocols
  • Mentoring junior technicians and helping coordinate day-to-day field work
  • Coordinating with project leads, PMs, and general contractors
  • Following site-specific requirements, safety protocols, and security procedures

What You Need
  • Prior experience as an Access Control Technician III, or equivalent advanced hands-on field experience with access control and low voltage systems
  • Ability to pass all required site onboarding and background/security requirements
  • Ability to work safely on active construction sites and within live data center environments
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel between sites in the Ashburn, VA market
  • Standard low voltage hand tools
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
  • Positive attitude, leadership potential, and willingness to mentor others

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience with access control systems and field hardware installation
  • Familiarity with MDF/IDF environments
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and riser drawings
  • Background in data center, commercial construction, or mission-critical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex low voltage systems independently
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring junior technicians in the field
