What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Earthwork & Utility position at KCI Construction?

Purpose: The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for all earthwork and utility projects through project completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Assume overall responsibility for project profitability.
  • Ensure projects are completed in compliance with project documents and quality standards.
  • Determine the most cost-effective use of construction methods, use of personnel, material, and equipment.
  • Responsible for subcontractor scope of work, change order management, and coordination of items.
  • Prepare and update project schedule.
  • Attend subcontractor/owner meetings as required.
  • Prepare monthly profit projections and attend projection meetings.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of eight years of earthwork and utility experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and manage a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter, team player and the ability to communicate in a professional manner.
  • High degree of integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and P6. Vista experience a plus.
